“Monsieur Gabriel” Gabriel Deverell Lyon Underworld Chief SR 4 Gabriel Deverell is descended of Huguenot parents. He is a major figure in the underworld of Lyon being involved in loan sharking, assassination, and prostitution. Like most Scoundrels Deverell is skilled in city lore (Lyon), climbing, burglary, sneaking, picking pockets, skullduggery, and gambling. He is a senior member in the Lyon Theives Guild and he knows everyone who is anyone in Lyon's underworld. He is a silent partner in the Silver Hedgehog and conducts most of his business there. He schemes to become the majority owner and to get rid of his 'partner' Lenault Hivernoir – one way or another. Deverell has a key to the Traboule entrance at the back of the Balcony of the Sliver Hedgehog – which he will use, if necessary, for a quick escape. Deverell is always accompanied by three bodyguards – Karl a German Swordsman, Rollo a Brute and Pugilist, and "Cutter" a Ruffian.
